Childcare SEO

Childcare SEO that helps local families find the right centre.

When a family searches for care near home or work, your centre should appear with accurate details, real photos and a page that answers their questions. We handle the local search work so that happens more often.

What it is

Childcare SEO, explained plainly.

Childcare SEO is the work of improving how your centre appears in unpaid search results and on Google Maps. For most centres it comes down to three things: an accurate, active Google Business Profile, a website with genuinely useful centre pages, and no technical problems stopping search engines from reading them.

Done well, it helps the right families find you and arrive already understanding what you offer. It does not replace a good enquiry process, so we connect it to how enquiries are followed up.

How families search

Start with what families actually type.

These are illustrative examples of the kinds of searches families make, not keyword volumes. Each one tells you something about what your page needs to answer.

  • “childcare near me”
  • “long day care [suburb]”
  • “kindy program [suburb]”
  • “childcare with nappies and meals included”
  • “babies room childcare near [workplace]”
  • “childcare open 6.30am [suburb]”

What we work on

Six areas that decide how you show up.

Google Business Profile

Correct categories, hours, phone, address and booking link; real photos of your rooms and outdoor areas; regular updates; and answers to the questions families ask. For many local searches this is the first thing a family sees.

Centre and location pages

One strong page per centre covering its actual rooms, ages, hours, approach, team and how to book a tour. Written for families first, so it also gives search engines something worth showing.

Technical crawlability

Pages that load quickly on phones, can be read by search engines, have sensible titles and descriptions, and are not blocked, duplicated or buried. Most centre sites have a few fixable issues here.

Content and internal links

Helpful pages on topics families research, such as starting care, what a day looks like or how kindy works in your state, linked clearly from the pages they relate to.

Genuine reviews

A steady, honest review process builds trust and keeps your profile active.

Measurement

Search Console and Business Profile data for visibility, then enquiries and tours by source where you can record them. Rankings on their own are not the goal.

How it runs

A practical process.

  1. 01

    Review

We look at your Business Profile, website, technical health and how you appear for local searches around each centre.

  2. 02

    Fix the foundations

Correct details, technical issues and weak or missing centre pages first, because they affect everything else.

  3. 03

    Build useful content

Add and improve pages that answer real family questions, linked sensibly across the site.

  4. 04

    Report and refine

Regular reporting on visibility and enquiries by source, and a short list of what we are doing next.

What your team contributes

A few things only you can provide.

  • Manager or owner access to your Google Business Profile
  • Website access, or contact with whoever manages it
  • Accurate centre facts: rooms, ages, hours, inclusions and your approach
  • Recent, approved photos of the centre
  • A way to note where each enquiry came from

Common questions

Questions centres ask us.

How long does childcare SEO take to work?

Fixes to your Google Business Profile and obvious technical issues can show up in weeks. Building visibility for competitive searches takes longer and depends on your competitors, your site's history and how much useful content you have. We will not give you a guaranteed ranking or timeline, because nobody honestly can.

Should we do SEO or Google Ads?

They do different jobs. Ads can put you in front of searching families quickly while you pay for each click. SEO builds visibility you do not pay for per click, but takes longer. Many centres use ads to cover urgent vacancies while SEO builds. See Google and Meta ads.

We run several centres. Do we need a page for every suburb?

You need a genuinely useful page for every centre, built on facts unique to that service: its rooms, hours, team, outdoor spaces and local details. Pages for suburbs where you have no centre, with only the name swapped, are unhelpful to families and are treated as spam by Google.

What about AI search tools like ChatGPT and Google's AI answers?

Google says the same fundamentals apply: helpful, accurate content that is easy to access and understand. Clear centre facts, consistent business details and pages that answer real questions give you the best chance of being represented correctly. No one can guarantee your centre will be cited in an AI answer, and there are no special tags or files that make it happen.

Can you work on our existing website?

Usually, yes, as long as we can get the access needed to edit pages and settings. If the site makes basic fixes very hard, we will tell you and explain the options, including a rebuild.
