Enrolment Boost

About Martin Niedenfuhr

Helping great childcare centres become the centre families choose.

I’m Martin, founder of Enrolment Boost.

For more than 15 years, I’ve worked in childcare marketing, helping owners and teams understand how to reach families, earn their trust and turn interest into enrolments.

I know how much goes into running a centre. The people, the responsibility, the early starts and the decisions that follow you home. When you’re putting that much into your service, you need to understand why places are still sitting empty and what you can actually do about it.

That’s the work I care about.

Why I founded Enrolment Boost

My background in childcare began as a marketing assistant at G8 Education, supporting marketing across a network of around 250 services.

When I went on to run my own general marketing agency, childcare remained a big part of my work. Many people knew me from my G8 days, understood my experience and continued to trust me with their centres’ marketing.

As the agency grew to work with more than 500 Australian businesses, it became increasingly clear that childcare needed a deeper level of attention.

There is a psychology behind choosing care that you need to understand to market a centre well. Families are navigating trust, uncertainty, practical pressures and often guilt about leaving their child. Their decision can take months, and every interaction with a centre can influence how confident they feel.

Understanding that journey also means understanding what happens inside the service. How a busy team handles an enquiry. How educators connect with a family on a tour. How fees and availability are explained. How communication builds trust after a child starts.

The more childcare services I worked with, the more I saw how closely those details were connected to occupancy.

I came to a clear decision: if we wanted to do this properly, childcare needed our full attention. Keeping across the sector, understanding how centres operate and helping teams improve the entire enrolment journey deserved a business dedicated to that work.

So, in 2019, I founded Enrolment Boost with one focus: the Australian childcare sector.

Since then, we’ve supported more than 300 centres, from independent services to larger groups. That focus remains the same today. Every service we develop and every tool we build is created around helping Australian childcare centres grow.

Families need a reason to feel confident

Choosing childcare is an incredibly personal decision.

A family might first notice your centre through Google or an ad. But before they enrol, they need to picture their child there. They want to feel comfortable with your educators, understand how their child will be supported and know that their questions matter.

That belief shapes how I approach marketing.

The details of your service matter most when families understand what they mean for their child. A beautiful outdoor area becomes somewhere to explore. A consistent team becomes familiar faces at drop-off. Thoughtful communication helps a family feel included in their child’s day.

Our job is to make those strengths clear, then help your team carry that confidence through the enquiry, the tour and everything that follows.

I want to know what happens after the enquiry

When an owner tells me they need more leads, I want to understand the whole situation.

Which rooms need filling? Which days? Are enquiries being answered quickly? Are families booking tours and attending them? What happens when someone visits, likes the centre, but isn’t ready to decide?

Those answers help us choose where to focus.

Sometimes a centre needs more local visibility. Sometimes the website isn’t giving families enough confidence to enquire. Sometimes interested families need better follow-up.

I want owners to have a clear explanation of what needs attention, why it matters and how we’ll judge progress. That’s the thinking behind Enrolment Boost.

Straight answers and practical help

If we work together, you can expect me to ask questions, challenge assumptions and explain my recommendations in plain English.

If I think something needs fixing before you spend more on advertising, I’ll say so. If we’re not the right fit, I’ll tell you that too.

I also believe useful advice should be shared. Not every conversation needs to become a client relationship to be worthwhile. Sometimes helping an owner see their next step clearly is a good outcome in itself.

A little more about me

I live on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula. I’m a husband and dad to two amazing girls and, according to our labradoodle Daisy, someone whose main responsibility is paying her attention.

Aside from Enrolment Boost, I love spending time with my family, exploring our beautiful country and seeing more of the world. Whether we’re discovering somewhere new or enjoying time together close to home, those are the moments I value most.

Being a dad adds a personal perspective to what I do. Behind every enquiry is a family making a decision about someone they love. That deserves care in how we communicate, advertise and follow up.
