Google & Meta ads

Childcare advertising aimed at the places you need to fill.

We plan and manage Google Search and Facebook and Instagram campaigns around your catchment, your vacancies by room and day, and what happens after a family clicks.

In short

Two channels, two different jobs.

Google Search reaches families who are already looking for care. Facebook and Instagram reach families earlier, often before they have started searching. Most centres benefit from knowing which job they need done before choosing a channel.

Either way, an ad is only the first step. We plan the landing page, the enquiry route and the follow-up before a campaign goes live, and we judge it on tours and enrolments, not just clicks.

This work is led by Martin Niedenfuhr, who has more than 15 years of sector experience growing childcare centres. About Martin

Google Search

Capture families who are ready to look

Ads appear when someone searches for childcare, long day care or kindy in your area. Intent is high, so this suits centres with vacancies now. Costs depend on how many nearby centres are bidding for the same searches.

Strong for: urgent vacancies, competitive suburbs, families returning to work soon.

Facebook and Instagram

Reach local families earlier

Campaigns reach families in your catchment while they browse. They are useful for building awareness, promoting specific rooms or days, and showing what your centre feels like through real photos and short videos.

Strong for: new centres, specific age groups, families planning care months ahead.

What shapes a campaign

The decisions that matter before spending anything.

Catchment

Where your families actually come from, including near workplaces, rather than a generic radius around the centre.

Room, age and day priorities

Which places need filling, so ads speak to the right families. A campaign for babies' room places reads very differently to one for kindy.

Budget factors

Local competition, the number of places, how soon you need them filled and your capacity to follow up. We recommend a starting point and adjust it with evidence.

Creative

Genuine photos and messages about what makes your centre a good fit. Stock images and generic claims tend to attract less committed enquiries.

Landing page

A page that matches the ad and makes enquiring easy on a phone. If your site makes this hard, it is worth fixing first; see website design.

Measurement

Conversion tracking set up properly, plus a simple way to record whether each enquiry booked a tour, attended and enrolled.

How it runs

From plan to regular review.

  1. 01

    Plan

Agree the vacancies, catchment, budget, channels and what counts as a good enquiry.

  2. 02

    Build

Set up campaigns, tracking, creative and the landing page or lead form, and confirm where enquiries go.

  3. 03

    Run

Launch, watch early results closely and adjust audiences, searches and messages.

  4. 04

    Review

Report on spend, enquiries and, where your records allow, tours and enrolments, then decide the next changes together.

Who does what

Clear responsibilities from the start.

We handle campaign planning, setup, creative direction, management, tracking and reporting.

Your team handles responding to enquiries promptly, running tours, and letting us know which enquiries progressed so we can improve targeting.

You own your ad accounts and the advertising budget, which is paid to the platforms and kept separate from our fees.

Common questions

Questions centres ask us.

How much should we spend on ads?

It depends on your catchment, how many places you need to fill, how competitive local searches are and how quickly you need results. We recommend a starting budget after looking at your situation, then adjust it based on the enquiries and tours it produces. We will not quote a fixed budget or cost per lead before that.

Is the ad spend included in your fee?

No. Your advertising budget is paid to Google and Meta and is shown separately from our management fee, so you can always see both.

Why not just aim for the cheapest cost per lead?

Cheap leads are often the wrong leads: families outside your catchment, looking for a different age group, or just browsing. We would rather pay a little more for enquiries that book tours for the rooms and days you need.

Should we use Meta lead forms or send people to our website?

Both can work. Lead forms are quick for families to complete but produce more casual enquiries, so fast follow-up matters. Website enquiries take slightly more effort and often come with more intent. We choose based on your follow-up capacity and what you want to learn.

What happens to the enquiries?

They go to whoever handles enquiries at your centre, the same day. Ads create interest, but your team turns it into tours. If response is a weak point, we will say so and can help with enquiry and tour follow-up.

Thinking about running ads?

Tell us which places you need to fill and we will talk through whether ads are the right move, and which channel to start with.
